Breaking: Fox Hit By Massive Data Hack

Fresh data hacks have hit Fox including the full personal details of contestants on the X-Factor 2011 television show. Details including name, date of birth, gender, phone number, location and other show related-data has been stolen then posted on PirateBay. The hacks are allegedly done by LulzSec who said ‘We aren’t 4chan or Anonymous, but sometimes we might assist them in our own special way.’

LulzSec has also posted entire lists of passwords on Pastebin. Telling readers to ‘…ravage the following list of emails and passwords (from a database within – Facebook, MySpace, PayPal, whatever you can get your hands on.’ The group has already gained access to 14 LinkedIn accounts presumably using the same passwords they were using at Fox. LinkedIn has re-gained access by removing the profiles which has the group’s meme-based logo. Here is a tweet from the group:!/LulzSec/status/67929136492060672

LulzSec has also gained control of two official accounts @fox15tv and @foxuptv. Fox 15 tweeting ‘Fox News 15 has decided to rape its own face. A sad day for our 25 viewers. @LulzSec’ which was then automatically syndicated to the website. (see below for screenshots)

The Twitter account of the group was created 7 May, only a few days ago. One Twitter asked about the encryption technique to which the group responded: ‘@jifa MD5s? Our FPGA clusters thought they were plaintext! Om nom nom nom nom. ^_^’
